Parsons Contract - Ralph Morgenweck, Governance Committee (GC) Vice-Chair, chaired the meeting in the absence of Roger Patterson, GC Chair. The GC considered the issue of what word(s) would be used in the scope of work for Parsons, to describe the work to be conducted by the CA and Program. It was agreed that this was not a task for the Parsons/EIS Technical Team as they will only be tasked with identifying hypotheses/questions and other technical tasks regarding river processes, i.e., something comparable to the Water Action Plan only for channel stability. GC agreed that the words "research and restoration activities" should be used. Jim Cook moved to approve the proposal as modified and the proposed budget of $45,790. Maryanne Bach seconded. GC approved by consensus. The revised proposal will be distributed to the GC for a short review period before Dale Strickland provides Parsons with a verbal notice to proceed by 3:30 p.m. on October 26, 2001. This will be a separate contract between Parsons and the Nebraska Community Foundation and not an amendment to the current contract under which Parsons is performing work for the States.
